"A time of fellowship and renewal"
We’re hoping that this year’s Gathering will be a time of fellowship and sharing. It is our intent to create an atmosphere where Patriot Guard brothers and sisters can get to know one another and build relationships with those they may already know. Many of us only know others from posts on a forum. We’re hoping that this year’s Gathering will present an opportunity to put names with faces and help open doors of communication.
This year’s Gathering will not be just another "bike” event; we’re not focusing on vendors and bikes. Our focus is on relationship- building. We’ll have a few guest speakers - a few special rides - some entertainment and lot’s of time to talk.
GOTG 2008 will take place in Danville, Virginia in a complex known as The Crossing at the Dan. There are three facilities within the Crossing at the Dan complex that are available for us to use. The main venue - the Carrington Pavilion is a 5000 seat outdoor pavilion with 1200 seats undercover and lots of seating in the grass. The Community Market Building is an indoor facility that can accommodate 750+ seated. The Pepsi Building is a smaller venue that may be used for meetings of 125 or less.
This year’s committee has been working toward the goal of a successful GOTG. A recurring theme has presented itself. The words “revival’ and "renewal" kept coming up in conversation.
Please remember this years GOTG is not about buying patches, leather, shirts, etc. It’s about getting to know one another.
Warning: This years gathering takes place in southern Virginia in late August so it may be hot and it might even rain. We’re hoping and praying for mild temperatures and nice weather. If neither present themselves - be prepared - bring some shorts and an umbrella. The facilities we are using for this year’s gathering are really nice. The City of Danville is working with us to help make the gathering a success.
